[ if there's one thing vampires are good at (other than being obnoxious bloodsuckers), it's brooding. and that's what alucard has been doing, at home: brooding. he works when he has to but shuts himself away otherwise, hoarding the dog and soothing his whines as best he can without actually doing anything about the tension.

locking himself up in his bedroom probably isn't the healthiest way to deal with this, but he's never been good at coping, and honestly he's just angry. logically he knows that what happened is the tracker's fault but to be placed in that situation at all and not having anywhere else to direct his ire yet, he just--tries not to focus on it. but the anger still simmers.

tonight he's laying in bed with the dog again after a long shift, though he sits up when the knock comes, eyes narrowing. baskerville climbs into his lap, and that's what anderson will find: alucard sitting cross-legged on the bed, baskerville in his lap, and finally, now that he's actually looking at him, something that's not quite avoidance. ]

So say it.

[ his voice isn't cold, but it is curiously flat. ]
